Sydney Metro Northwest places focuses on creating diverse, well-designed places for current and future communities.
From December 2023 to February 2024, over 880 people shared their thoughts and ideas for the new open spaces in Bella Vista and Kellyville as part of the Sydney Metro Northwest Places Program.
Thank you to everyone who took the time to tell us what you value most about open spaces and how you see these aspirations coming to life in Bella Vista and Kellyville.
Across the consultation, three key themes emerged:
The development application for Kellyville has now been lodged with The Hills Shire Council for assessment. The development application for Bella Vista will be lodged soon. The open space designs are subject to change based on Council’s review.
The Hills Shire Council is currently assessing the Development Application for Kellyville. Based on the Council's review, the designs for the open spaces may change.
The community can provide feedback on the designs during the public exhibition.
Landcom currently plans to manage the delivery of the open spaces once all approvals are in place.
You can provide feedback up until 28 April to the Hills Shire Council on the Kellyville open space by following the steps below:
Landcom and Sydney Metro are working together to develop the land around the Bella Vista and Kellyville stations. These projects are part of the broader Sydney Metro Northwest Places Program that will create new neighbourhoods along the M1 Northwest & Bankstown Line.
A concept masterplan has been approved for each precinct, including the location and preliminary designs for new open spaces with parks, playgrounds and green spaces.
Bella Vista and Kellyville are both unique places. We recognise it’s important to plan spaces where the community can relax, exercise, play, be creative or meet with friends and family.

A welcoming neighbourhood that creates a sense of belonging and security whilst being connected to the wider local community of quality schools and local lifestyle amenities. We aim to create resilient communities with shared spaces, and encourage community support and engagement.
We aim to create resilient spaces harnessing innovation and a commitment to a sustainable community for all. We aim to increase urban canopy and city greening - with a minimum 30% site canopy coverage through implementation of trees and ‘green’ canopy structures to mitigate heat.
Biophilic design principles influence the urban design, balancing built form with natural landscape. Supported by generous open spaces, vegetated corridors and selective tree-planting to enhance the beauty of the site. We aim to create a Green Heart to the development with an emphasis on tree canopy, natural materials and sustainability.
A site designed for a healthy, positive lifestyle with public spaces, active linkages, sporting facilities and nearby access to township amenities and transport. We aim to enhance the existing site with connections to existing reserves and the wider context.
In the spirit of reconciliation, Landcom respectfully acknowledges the Traditional Custodians of Country throughout NSW and recognises and respects their continuing cultural heritage, beliefs and connection to land, sea and community. We pay our respects to their Elders past, present and emerging. Country across Australia always was and always will be traditional Aboriginal land.
